women in philanthropic abundance

September 2026 – May 2027
Sunshine Ranch, Boulder, Colorado · Intimate circle (capacity at 12 women)

A nine-month journey for women ready to give — and live — from genuine overflow.
A nine-month journey toward more conscious, embodied philanthropy.
A nine-month circle for women reshaping how they give, receive, and steward.

The Invitation

For nine months, a small circle of women will gather monthly on the land at Sunshine Ranch — re-patterning not just how you give, but the you who is doing the giving.

This offering provides a place where the inner life of the giver becomes core curriculum: your money stories, your lineage, your relationship to power, and your capacity to receive. As we move through the arc, we will engage  both individually and collaboratively in constructive reflection around our philanthropic engagement, bringing greater clarity and deepened impact to the areas we give to and steward. Through the curriculum, we meet on beautiful abundant land abutting Lefthand Creek, connect with the plants and animals there to help us connect into our essential nature and deepest purpose.

The call is to support your unique embodiment of the woman whose presence, values, and essence create ripples of healing long before — and long after — a gift is ever made. Through the support of a circle of women, with horses, with the land, with abundant nourishment and the magic of what is possible when those are all held with care, your nervous systems and hearts will soften and open into a more embodied, soft, essential place.
Picture
This is a place where the inner life of the giver becomes the core curriculum — your money stories, your lineage, your relationship to power, your capacity to receive — and where the land does some of the teaching. Each month we gather on the land, in the company of cottonwoods, the herd, and turning seasons, and let that pace set ours. From there, alone and together, we look honestly at how and why we give — and leave with more clarity about what's ours to steward, and more depth in the giving itself.

The questions we sit with

1. Who are you becoming through the act of giving — and who do you want to be nine months from now?

2. Where do your money stories still shape how you give — and how you withhold?

3. Are you moving resources from genuine overflow, or from scarcity that has simply become well-managed?

4. What did you inherit — in wealth, in worldview, in your body — and what are you ready to set down?

5. What is your relationship to the power your resources carry — and what would it mean to wield it differently?

6. What would it mean for all of your capital to speak the same language?

7. What does it feel like when you are most in your essence and how can you live and give from that place?

The arc of the convening
The journey moves through three chapters-

Rooting · September – November. We arrive as people, not donors, and set intentions the whole year will answer. We trace our money stories with Sharna Goldseker, author of Generation Impact and co-founder of 21/64, and explore scarcity and sufficiency alongside Lynne Twist, author of The Soul of Money.

Deepening · December – February. The interior winter work: tracing lineage and releasing what is no longer ours to carry at the solstice, naming the power our resources hold and how we have been taught to apologize for it, and the somatic practice of receiving — the place where over-giving finally gets to rest.

Moving · March – May. The inner work turns outward. We bring live giving questions into the circle and experiment with trust-based practice, spend a full day with the horses in an equine leadership immersion, look at aligning the whole of our capital with our values, and harvest what has changed in each of us since September.

Every gathering is held on the land and includes farm-to-table nourishment.

Between sessions, a private cohort channel and monthly prompts carry the work, and the intentions set in September become the through-line of the year: revisited at the midpoint, harvested together in May

Session Themes

Crossing the Threshold: Arrival & Intention
Grounding in place, building the circle, and clarifying the personal and collective intentions that will guide the journey.
Money, Meaning & Legacy — with Sharna Goldseker
Exploring the stories, values, and responsibilities that shape our relationship with wealth, alongside the legacies we have inherited and those we hope to create.
Scarcity, Sufficiency & the Soul of Money — with Lynne Twist
Examining how scarcity operates within us and across cultures and systems, and considering what becomes possible when we orient toward sufficiency, connection, and shared well-being.
Lineage & Re-Patterning
Turning toward family, ancestry, and the patterns passed through generations, exploring what we wish to carry forward, transform, or release in our stewardship of money and power.
The Power We Carry
Investigating power at multiple levels: personal agency, relational dynamics, family and organizational influence, and the larger systems in which wealth and philanthropy operate.
Receiving & Overflow
Exploring the relationship between giving and receiving, strengthening our capacity to receive support, hold resources, and give from grounded abundance rather than depletion.
Herbalism and Animism:
Allowing the natural setting of the cohort to open our hearts, unwind our nervous systems and transform how we perceive ourselves and our true nature
The Systems We Participate In
Exploring the systems of philanthropy we participate in—and our own roles within them—using practical inquiry and systems-change frameworks to surface patterns, challenge assumptions, and imagine new possibilities from the micro to the macro.
Reimagining How We Give
Widening the lens from individual generosity to the structures and assumptions of philanthropy itself, considering how giving can support deeper partnership, equity, systems change, and long-term transformation.
Equine Leadership Immersion
Through embodied work with the horses, exploring presence, boundaries, trust, influence, and collective movement, bringing the inner and systemic dimensions of leadership into lived experience.
The Whole Portfolio & The Harvest
Considering how our values can be expressed across our whole portfolio of money, time, relationships, leadership, investments, and philanthropic commitments.

leadership, investments, and philanthropic commitments.
Individual Integration Sessions

The program includes one individual equine-facilitated session with Bridgit, as equine work will be woven throughout our journey together.

Equine-facilitated coaching sessions explore power, presence, and embodiment. Sessions incorporate the horses’ real-time feedback to illuminate how you are operating across mind, heart, body, and nervous system. This creates space to notice patterns, deepen inner guidance, and reconnect with the essence of how you want to lead, give, receive, and be. The work is informed by Bridgit’s experience as an executive coach and advanced training in somatic, Integral, and clinical therapeutic approaches.

What You'll Walk Away With

Together, we will cultivate a deeply embodied approach to giving that honors both heart and impact, intuition and discernment, spirit and strategy. You'll explore what it means to steward wealth in a way that allows data, due diligence, and measurable outcomes to coexist with deep listening, inner knowing, relationship, and safety.
Picture
You will leave with:
  • A more expansive relationship with money, scarcity, and abundance
  • A community of women committed to generosity, wisdom, and mutual support
  • Greater confidence in your intuition as a guide alongside thoughtful analysis
  • A renewed understanding of wealth as a sacred responsibility and an opportunity to create lasting healing
  • The ability to hold both measurable impact and human connection as equally essential
  • A vision of philanthropy that is people-centered, earth-centered, and woman-centered
  • A deeper capacity to receive, nourish yourself, and lead from overflow rather than depletion
  • Practical frameworks for making aligned philanthropic decisions with greater clarity and confidence
  • The lived experience that wealth in the hands of grounded, heart-led women has the power to transform families, communities, and future generations

Who this circle is for

Women who hold philanthropic resources — inherited, earned, or stewarded — and who long for a space of depth, vulnerability, and honest company in which to explore what abundance truly asks of them. We invite participants to leave titles at the door, and encourage a space of curiosity, vulnerability, and stewardship.

Meet Your Guides

This work is held by four women who have each spent decades at the intersection of healing, community, money, and meaning — and who have come together because something new is being called forth.

Helen Gemmill

Helen is a lifelong learner and connector of worlds, and has spent her career as a bridge between donors and communities, between resources and need, between what is and what's possible.

With deep roots in environmental philanthropy and a particular calling around water — its presence, its scarcity, its sacred nature — Helen brings a profound sense of stewardship to everything she touches.

Helen helps  individuals, families, and organizations align resources with their values, purpose, and truest expression. She works with people navigating transitions, seeking clarity, preparing to step into leadership roles, or exploring deeper connection to their mission—supporting them in uncovering possibilities, stepping forward with intention, and creating meaningful impact. She carries the desire to create circles, not hierarchies, and to be in community with others who want the same.

She has spent 25 years working at the intersection of social change, leadership, and philanthropy, including environmental justice, women’s leadership, international work, and fundraising for organizations. She is adept in many roles, as staff, consultant, funder, board member and more.
Based on her ranch in Boulder County, she draws inspiration from the land, her herd of horses, and the wisdom of plants and natural cycles. Her work is deeply relational, rooted in presence and attunement, guiding people to uncover clarity, deepen impact, step fully into leadership, and move into their truest expression. She was honored to be named to Boulder County's "40 Under 40."

Mitten Lowe

Medicine woman. Clinical herbalist. Keeper of the feminine path.

Mitten's path is distinctive, and her medicine is the real thing. After navigating her own profound healing journey through illness, trauma, and the disconnections that modern life can bring, she emerged with a calling: to offer others what she had longed for and couldn't find. That offering became Journey to Wellness and The Medicine Woman Path — a holistic integration of clinical herbalism, ancestral healing traditions, botanical alchemy, nutrition, and spiritual practice.

Mitten holds a BS in Biology and Nutrition from Colorado State, a Master's in Nonprofit Management from Regis University, and certification as a Master Clinical Herbalist. But her truest education came from her Yaya's kitchen — from sacred foods, ancestral recipes, and the knowing that medicine lives in our bones, in what we eat, in how we nourish ourselves and each other.

Her work is a tonic to what she calls our "out-of-balance, toxic culture" — the exhaustion, perfectionism, and severance from the divine feminine that has become normalized. She believes that true healing is both ancient and modern, both and rather than either or. Her own regulated nervous system and deep well-nourishment are what allow her to hold space for others to do the same.

In this circle, Mitten brings her gifts as a facilitator, a broth-master, a keeper of ritual and plant medicine — and her genuine love of the women who gather. Based in Boulder, she helps people heal locally and globally.

Bridgit Wald

Integrative practitioner. Equine partner. Somatic guide.

Bridgit works at the intersection of coaching, counseling, somatics, and the natural world — and she has spent years learning to listen to systems: human, organizational, and equine. Her practice is grounded in the belief that the most meaningful change happens at the root level, when we attend to the whole person in their full complexity.

Since 2016, Bridgit has practiced executive coaching and personal coaching through Emergence Leadership. She is currently pursuing her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, brings certification in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy from the Colorado School of Energy Studies, and facilitates equine coaching through EquusLibere — where she works with her beautiful herd of rescue horses.

The horses are not props or metaphors in Bridgit's work. They are partners — exquisitely sensitive beings who respond to what is present in a person's nervous system, helping to surface what words cannot always access. In this container, Bridgit's equine work offers participants an experience of being truly met: by an animal, by their own body, by the present moment.

What you'll notice about Bridgit is her precision, her gentleness, and her refusal to tolerate what isn't true. She cultivates safety through clarity. She has a deep interest in what makes systems — families, organizations, communities — either fracture or cohere, and she brings that curiosity into every room she enters. Her disassociated systems experience and cranial work are her homecoming — and her offering.

Madeline Tomseth

Strategic Impact Partner. Executive coach. Fourth-generation values-keeper.

Madeline came to this work from an unusual direction: a fourth-generation member of the Les Schwab family, she grew up deeply shaped by her great-grandfather's philosophy of building good people and creating opportunities. When the family sold Les Schwab Tire Centers, she found herself at a threshold — and chose to build something that honored those roots while reaching toward something new.

She founded Niveau Philanthropy in 2020 and trained as an Executive Coach through the Hudson Institute, bringing a whole-person, developmental approach to both her coaching clients and her philanthropic practice. She operates a donor-advised fund with a focus on local food security, and international women's health and climate initiatives — and serves As Vice Chair of Social Venture Partners Boulder County, is a Women Moving Millions Ambassador, Maverick Collective Member, and part of the Steering Committee for the Women’s Philanthropy Group.

Before philanthropy, alongside operating in the tire business, Madeline spent over 13 years in food styling and recipe development, building a thriving creative business with brands like KitchenAid and Bob's Red Mill. That work taught her about beauty, precision, and the way that nourishment — when prepared with care — becomes something more than sustenance. It becomes belonging.

What Madeline brings to this circle is the ability to hold the strategic and the soulful simultaneously. She listens deeply, thinks clearly, and cares fiercely — about the people in the room and about the larger world their generosity touches. Her work consistently asks: what would it mean to give — and live — from true abundance? This gathering is one of her answers.
