Vaccine Preparation and Detox Protocol

This is not an article to debate the vaccine issue.  

If you are reading this article, you are likely vaccinating your children or yourself, or  you are considering it. 

This is an article to support parents to keep their children healthy. While this article is geared towards children, it is just as relevant and applicable for adults. Regardless of your belief system about vaccines, every adult and parent should know how to prepare for, and detoxify from, vaccines.  I believe that we all want what’s best for our children and for ourselves!

This is simply a guide for healing and balance.  A guide to prepare the body for vaccines and to detoxify the body after receiving vaccines. If you are vaccinating for any reason, consider adding a healing protocol to your plan and choices. ​

I have used this protocol successfully with my own children, children in my practice, and have guided many friends through this process.  Thus far, I have only observed success with preventing vaccine reactions and minimizing related symptoms. I will tell you this, it can’t hurt, and it will very likely help a lot.  I have heard from several parents that this protocol not only prevented vaccine reactions, but improved their child’s overall health!

This protocol was originally born out of fear.  If you are reading this, you may be in that place... and that’s ok.  I want to reassure you that you have options and choices here, and you DO NOT have to choose a side.  We are all entitled to do the absolute best that we can to care for our families and ourselves.

I was scared to death for my daughter, Helena, when she was receiving her first vaccine.  She was 9 years old and had never received any medication or shot of any kind. Not a tylenol, not an antibiotic... nothing. We chose to move forward with vaccines because she wanted to attend summer camp, but I had no idea how her body would react. As I have been known to do, I researched like crazy and came up with the early basis for this protocol.  Since then, I have learned so much and have moved from a place of fear, to one of choice, balance and prevention. I continually support people to make their own informed choices. 

The core principle here is this;

A healthy body can handle more than we can imagine.  The reverse is true as well. An unbalanced, or un-well, body often cannot handle challenges without resulting in illness. If you or your child are healthy, thriving, have low toxicity, a healthy immune system, and a healthy gut, then there is an excellent chance that vaccines will not result in reaction, injury, or illness.  If not, the opposite is also true. This is the basis for prevention.

It is well accepted that vaccines are contraindicated (this means you should not do it!) for individuals with severely compromised immune systems, for children with cold or flu, and for children with certain neurological diagnosis.  Our children’s collective wellness in this country is steadily on the decline. Children (and adults) are increasingly exposed to processed foods, toxins, increased vaccine schedules, less fresh air, less activity, and more screens.  Notice I toss vaccines in with a list of factors that affect overall wellness. Like food or activity, there are remedies to regain health and balance.

We also know that the some ingredients listed in vaccines are carcinogenic and neurotoxic.  You can check out vaccine ingredients from the CDC website HERE. It doesn’t matter what your position is on vaccines, we don’t want these things in our bodies creating illness. If you are in a position by choice or not by choice, that you are vaccinating yourself or your child, you can mitigate the effects of the toxins and immune responses.  I’ll say this again, REGARDLESS of your belief system on vaccines, every parent should know how to prepare for, and detoxify from, vaccines.


Vaccine Prevention and Detox Protocol

The protocol is based on these basic healing principles:
1. Nourish deeply with food, herbs, and supplements
2. Detoxify the tissues of the body
3. Decrease systemic inflammation

I'll let you in on a secret.  This is a great start for healing no matter what you are dealing with!

Use your discretion and do your research for age appropriateness.  For nursing infants, some of these recommendations should be followed by the mother.

Prevention: 2 weeks before (4 weeks if needed for an unwell individual)
  1. Clean up the diet: Remove processed foods, excess sugar, and ideally minimize gluten and dairy.  Add probiotic foods or a quality probiotic supplement. We like this one. This diet clean up decreases inflammation and toxicity in the body, heals the gut, and strengthens the immune system.  If you are confused about where to start on this, try loosely following a healing diet such as GAPs, AIP, SCD or Whole30.  
 
  1. Increase fresh air and activity: Every organ system in the body responds to increased movement.  Like a clean diet, an increase in activity decreases inflammation and strengthens the immune system.  An increase in movement, combined with a cleansing diet, will allow the tissues to move stagnation and toxicity out of the body. If there is significant toxicity and illness present in the body, consider adding a cleanse to the protocol.  Cleansing with children is actually quite simple and they respond quickly.

Prevention: 1 week before
  1. Add immune strengthening herbs such as Elderberry and Echinacea: These herbs are specific for building the immune system and work differently than herbs that kill microorganisms. They will support the body to respond to the toxins and disease causing microorganisms. Echinacea should be not be used for individuals suffering from autoimmune conditions.
  2. Add bone stock to the diet:  Bone stock helps to heal and seal the gut, assists in protecting  the body and brain from toxins, allergens, and immune irritants, and provides deep healing nourishment. Here is a vegan version for vegetarians and vegans.  Drink it a minimum of one time daily during this preparation period.
  3. Increase essential fatty acids:  Our nervous system is comprised of lipids (fats) and requires sufficient healthy fats to protect nervous system tissue such as brain tissue. Cod liver oil is a great option here as it is also high in Vitamins A and D.  Choose a plant based option for vegetarians or vegans.
  4. Begin Vaccishield supplement or something similar: Vaccishiled is an incredible supplement and I have used it consistently with my own kiddos. We have had the best luck mixing it into applesauce. The creator of this supplement, Dr. Clinton, became concerned about vaccines and wanted an option to support her son during vaccinations. VacciShield was designed from nutritional research to help support healthy brain, immune, gastrointestinal and detoxification function during vaccination.  Active ingredients include: 5 vitamins and 2 minerals, 2 probiotic strains, and L-Glutamine for immune and gut health. 
  5. Get plenty of rest: Sleep should not be underestimated as a core contributor to a strong immune system and balanced nervous system. 

After Vaccination: For current or past vaccines
  1. Begin Liddell Vac Detox Homeopathic drops:  Begin this remedy immediately after receiving the vaccine if possible. This homeopathic remedy relieves the symptoms and counters the ill effects (not the therapeutic effects) of oral or injected vaccines.  This remedy works for recent or past vaccines. For recent vaccines, you can use it daily for 14 days. For past vaccines, use it for 30 days.  Active ingredients include: Arnica 3X, Merc corros 200C, Sulfur iod 200C, Thuja occ 200C, and Urtica ur 3X.  This remedy also works for dogs!
  2. Continue with Vaccishield supplement for 7 - 10 days after the vaccine has been given.
  3. Continue with a cleansing diet: A cleansing, deeply nourishing diet will support the body during the detoxification process.  Add chlorella and spirulina to the diet if possible in smoothies. Chlorella binds to heavy metals and spirulina is deeply nourishing and mineralizing.  Chlorella doesn’t taste so great, so you may have to mask the taste or give it in capsules for older children or adults.
  4. Take daily magnesium/ Epsom salt/ mineral baths: Mineral baths are a soothing and effective way to detoxify the blood and tissues quickly.  It is best to start these baths immediately before toxins settle into tissues. You can use 2-4 cups of Epsom salt per bath. This will detoxify and mineralize the blood.  Consider adding lavender essential oil to the baths. Be sure to put the oil directly into the salt first to prevent skin irritation. Note: Essential oils are not safe for infants.  
  5. Add Red Clover (for children over 12 years old) and Calendula to support the detoxification process. Red clover is an alterative (blood cleansing) herb that works particularly well for hyperactive children.  It is contraindicated for individuals that are pregnant, have liver issues, or are on contraceptive pills or blood thinners. Calendula, one of my all time favorite herbs, has an affinity for the liver, digestion, and the lymphatic system (lymphagogue).  Calendula can gently support the detoxification and gut healing process.

There's the Vaccine Preparation and Detox Protocol in a nutshell! Every BODY is different.  Use your discretion in applying theses recommendations for your children or yourself.

Important Notes and Additions:


If you are interested in learning about homeopathic prophylaxis against world disease, I highly recommend this site.

You may notice your child (or yourself) being extra tired or grumpy while you are detoxing. This is a good thing, it means it is working!

I have heard from family members and friends that TRS Detox works quickly and without side effects in addition to the above protocol especially for more serious vaccine reactions and injuries.  I didn't add it to the protocol as I am yet to get really familiar with the product.  It may be worth looking into!

Hey there! Thank you for all the very detailed information. I am trying to prep my 4 year old for vaccination. My son was vaccine injured years ago and we are looking into detoxing him. The one thing I am concerned and nervous about is my 4 year old isn’t supposed to have any ibuprofen or fish oil or any other medication or herbs that can thin the blood because she has a bleeding disorder called Von willebrands. She hasn’t received a single vaccine and I am so worried. Do you know what part of this protocol we should steer clear of pertaining to her bleeding disorder?
